Hi, I’m Zaid from Idealogical and today I’ll be discussing the importance of email hygiene and how you can control your email quarantine through your LogicalVault.
Email is the number one way that viruses get onto your network. Some email providers do offer some sort of email filtering system. LogicalVault takes it to the next step by having your emails reviewed at our data center, scanning them for viruses and releasing them when clean.
Every day you’ll get a report of what has been quarantined in your inbox. For the odd times when you are looking for an email that you suspect has been quarantined, you can always check your LogicalVault.
To access your LogicalVault quarantined email, you can visit http://spamfilter.mylogicalvault.com. Your login is your email address and your password would have been provided to you when you were set up in the system.
Idealogical will set you up with a generic password that should be changed to one that is memorable to you.
To change your password just enter your current password and your new password twice, then hit change password.
Once logged in, you’ll be on the home page. Here, you’ll see bulletins to advise you on the latest with regards to the LogicalVault product. You also have the option to change your password and your preferences.
To check out what is in your quarantine, just click on the quarantine tab. Here, you’ll see a list of all the emails LogicalVault has quarantined on your behalf.
To release an email just select the email and click on release. If the email is from a trusted sender you can also click on the option to “Add to whitelist” to prevent emails from this sender from being blocked next time. You can also forward the email to another recipient.
You’ll see a column in this report which references SPQ. But what does that mean? Spam Probability Quotient is the estimated chance that a certain email is spam. The lower the SPQ, the lower the chance that it’s actually spam. Most email with an SPQ of 10 or higher is spam, but occasionally a legitimate email might get caught by mistake. Keep this in mind if you’re looking to change the settings for which emails appear in your “Low SPQ Folder” and “High SPQ Folder” [Screencap of Low/High SPQ folder menus]
There are many options that can be adjusted within the LogicalVault site that to detail them all would take longer than the average viewer would want to spend on these videos. If you’re interested in more info on using advanced options, please check out the Help link on the site. And feel free to give us a call anytime, we’re here to help!
